Tergar Schools
Tergar Schools offers a transformational model of K–12 education that cultivates kind, resilient human beings who embody awareness, compassion, wisdom, and joy. Grounded in the teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the Tergar Schools model of learning weaves together Tibetan Buddhist view, meditation, and application with core disciplinary subjects, delivered through innovative, research-informed pedagogical approaches.
Tergar Schools currently operates a pilot campus in Kathmandu, Nepal. With 82 students, 8 faculty members, 3 administrators, and over 15 support staff, Tergar School Kathmandu has become a vibrant and dynamic learning community for students and educators alike. In late 2025, Tergar Schools broke ground on a second campus in the Yolmo region of Nepal. Tergar School Yolmo is envisioned as a naturally pristine learning environment where students can explore both their inner and outer worlds, deepening their learning through direct engagement with place, community, and practice.
